City of Greater Geelong Case Study

14th January 2012

The IMS, produced in January 2010 identified the business needs for Council in relation to the management of property assets and established the information required to support the development of an asset management strategy. The IMS identified that a non-intrusive visual survey of the building assets was required to address the gaps in information and knowledge on the current asset base to facilitate effective Property Asset Management Planning. As a result, data collection, analysis and reporting processes were established and tested through a pilot survey. The SPM Assets software was configured to meet the business needs of Council, based on the ADIBES solution, which is; Analysis of business needs, Design of the configuration to address these needs, Implementation of the configuration, Building of the data model, and Education for users and Support of the process.
