### **Asset Management Planning with Continuous Improvement**

Otago Polytechnic's key goals were to:

- Inform its strategic planning solutions
- Demonstrate to the tertiary Education Commission that it has a clear understanding of the built environment and the cost to maintain and develop it
- Create improved management reporting

Some of the challenges faced by Otago Polytechnic:

- Overcoming the shortfalls of existing systems

- Creating effective asset management plans for each building
- Providing the data to support decision making
