The US office is based in New York City, and the corporate head office and the software development team is located in Auckland, New Zealand. There are also the Australian customer service and sales teams based in Sydney. The company also has a presence in South Africa and is steadily growing its global influence.
In addition to providing software tools, SPM Assets has a team of highly experienced consultants to assist organizations in establishing the best process for assessing and maintaining physical assets. The SPM Assets team have conducted some of the largest property surveys in Australasia and is a respected leader in the industry. In establishing SPM Assets, Steve realized his passion for making a real difference in the asset management industry. Based in Sydney, he is responsible for the overall performance of the company with particular emphasis on the Australian market and forging new partnerships around the world. Steve is a recognized thought-leader in asset management planning and authored the NAMS Property Manual and co-authored the IPWEA Practice Note 3 for Building Condition & Performance Assessments. He also was a contributing author to the International Infrastructure Management Manual (IIMM) and is a sought after speaker on asset management. An inspiring leader, he encourages knowledge sharing and looks to lift the global standard of asset planning and management through the software SPM Assets creates.
CFO and Co-Founder
A recognized authority on asset management, Chris has been fundamental in developing SPM Assets to support the very best practice in asset management and planning. His focus is in the identification and analysis of key investment drivers, policies and conditions that effect the long-term management of assets. Having previously lectured in Infrastructure in Asset Management and related subjects at Auckland University, he has also contributed to the establishment of global standards, appeared as an expert witness and was responsible for the development and preparation of asset management plans for local authorities and utility companies in New Zealand and Australia. His current focus is on the financial and operational performance of SPM Assets and its interests around the world.
Chief Operating Officer
David is known in the industry for his insightful knowledge of strategic asset management, as well as for his expertise in the practical application of these principles across a diverse range of environments. David is also skilled in strategic planning, business process development, lifecycle planning, operations management, and decision making.
As COO, David is responsible for leading the business to ensure customer success. This includes spearheading a sales team of experienced and enthusiastic experts, who are all passionate about improving the management of property assets. Prior to joining SPM Assets in 2007, David held senior engineering and asset management roles in the New Zealand aviation and rail industries.
Kate Mulligan, BA
Kate was first exposed to SPM Assets’ capabilities as a client, so she knows first-hand how physical asset management software and consulting services benefit organizations. Kate has an in-depth understanding of the potential offered by sound asset management strategies and data-driven solutions – and how these impact the quality and standard of housing. She believes that efficient property and asset management can transform a house into a home, and a neighborhood into a thriving community.
Kate is based in New York City and is passionate about both the place and its people. Heading up the US SPM Assets team, Kate is responsible for developing relationships with the affordable housing industry to provide well-maintained, safe homes to New Yorkers. Kate brings effective creative problem-solving and data analytics skills, adaptability, enthusiasm and strong team building skills to this role.
Prior to joining SPM Assets, Kate gained extensive first-hand experience of housing asset management across a broad range of industries. Her previous roles include Director of Asset Management for RiseBoro Community Partnership in Brooklyn and Director of Capital Projects for Rio Tinto's Accommodation and Towns Division in Australia's vast North-West.
